The Tankhoi Versta is an ecological and historical trail located on the picturesque shore of Lake Baikal, near the Tankhoi station. The trail is about one verst (1.07 kilometres) long and is intended for walks and informative excursions to get acquainted with the unique nature and history of the region.
For the opening of the new eco-trail, we developed small architectural forms and information carriers along the route.
Small architectural forms are modularly made of environmentally friendly materials and installed along the entire trail. The beginning and end of the trail are marked by entrance groups with route diagrams.
Information stands along the trail acquaint visitors with interesting facts about the nature and historical heritage of South Baikal. The trail tells the history of the village of Tankhoi in the early 20th century, when it became an important strategic point of the Trans-Siberian railway. Along the route you can see cultural heritage sites such as the ruins of a railway bridge and an old railway built before the revolution. There are also resting places and photo zones.
