Smolenskoye Poozyorye National Park is one of the largest nature conservation areas in Central Russia. The area required renovation of tourist zones and creation of a unified, recognisable style that would blend in with the surrounding nature.
Together with the ‘Zapovednoe Posolstvo’ Charity Foundation, we have developed a handy and easy-to-understand equipment compendium. It covers all the landscaping needs of various public spaces and helps to create a unified visual style of the park.
The design and typology of small architectural forms for different zones and functions of the park have been developed
A typology of the use of coverings and decks has been defined
Recommendations on materials and manufacturing techniques are given, including dimensional drawings
The territory of the park consists of zones, which are landscaped by employees. The equipment for landscaping is manufactured in-house. We have identified the necessary types and developed a catalogue of small architectural forms in a uniform style.
The information carriers are designed according to the modular principle: depending on the location, different configurations of the structures are required. Such media are installed at the entrance groups of thematic locations, as well as at individual points where information is required.
The equipment for tourist car parks allows to delimit the rented areas and make the stay of tourists in the park more comfortable. Some of the equipment was modernised on the basis of existing solutions.
All constructions are made of wood. Simple and functional objects are decorated with wooden bars that refer to the idea of tree branches.
For each small architectural form we have prepared drawings, as well as recommendations on manufacturing, placement and combination with other objects. All proposed solutions take into account the peculiarities of site operation and can be realised within a limited budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The landscaping guidelines allow the park staff to organise tourist areas on their own.
